Miguel Figaredo

Miguel Figaredo is an Asturian finance executive, investor, and Executive Producer with an international background spanning private banking, investment, corporate strategy, and business development. He serves as Chief Financial Officer at Jimsonweed Studios, where he plays a central role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, corporate development, and long-term growth.

Miguel began his career in international finance and spent several years in the United States, including serving as Vice President at J.P. Morgan Chase. This experience gave him a deep understanding of investment, complex financial structures, high-level negotiation, and the management of relationships with private investors and corporate partners. He later returned to Asturias to become actively involved in his family’s business group, expanding his work across strategy, investment, and business development.

He joined Jimsonweed Studios’ founding structure as its first outside investor, through his family investment holding, drawn by the opportunity to enter the worlds of film, television, interactive media, and creative technology. His longstanding relationship with Alonso Varela and his belief in the studio’s vision initially brought him to the project, but his involvement quickly grew far beyond the role of a financial investor.

As CFO, Miguel focuses on the broader strategic and corporate dimensions of the company rather than its day-to-day accounting. Working alongside Jimsonweed’s specialist financial, legal, and administrative advisers, he leads major negotiations, investment and financing structures, institutional relationships, and the development of new corporate partnerships. He has also played a central role in assembling the external advisory network that supports the studio’s growth.

Through this work, Miguel’s role has evolved organically into that of an Executive Producer. He is currently Executive Producer on ASTUR and MONDO, contributing to their development, financing, strategic positioning, and relationships with investors, institutions, and potential production partners.

At Jimsonweed Studios, Miguel brings together the discipline and perspective of international finance with an increasingly creative understanding of audiovisual production. His role is to help transform the studio’s creative ambition into a sustainable company, building the financial structures, partnerships, and long-term strategy required to bring its original films, series, and technologies to international audiences.
